The long sword bokken is the traditional training sword of the Samurai. There are literally hundreds of Japanese wooden weapons arising from different martial arts schools. All have subtle variations. Hickory Arms bokken are based on the versatile Aikiken bokken, which has elements of both old and modern versions . The Aikido bokken is characterized by its speed and durability for practice with training partners.
Hickory Arms’ is proud to offer bokken made from hickory: a strong, dense, shock resistant and beautiful wood. The long sword has an overall length of 39.75″, 42″, or 48″, but can also be made a custom length.
The training bokken are tsuba ready and are available with beautiful hardwood trim or waxed cotton cord for a more ergonomic fit and impact absorption.
